God has blessed us with a fully functioning church from the start. We offer a complete range of ministries and opportunities to grow in Christ. Our Sunday morning service starts with a time of coffee and fresh baked goods at 10:00 am and our service starts at 10:30 Dynamic programs for all age groups are available. The church is growing very quickly and we invite you to come visit us and meet a great group of people who are changing their community for Christ. Our Purpose Trinity Community Church exists to “lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ”. We are a Christian Church with only one primary objective and that is to help people develop a “purpose driven life” Trinity started out in the winter of 2004 as a handful of families that God was calling to start a new church in the Hockessin/Pike Creek area. We have no other agenda than to see God glorified in everything we do. The church continues to grow very quickly with families who really want to honor God by serving his people and ministering to their needs. Core Principles Prayer: We value the incredible privilege of communicating with God, and we seek to make his church a place of individual, corporate and public prayer. 2nd Chronicles 7:1-2 “When Solomon finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory filled the temple.” Family: We value the family as God’s primary unit of society, and seek to assist people in strengthening their marriages, developing the next generation and in caring for the elderly. 1 Chronicles 16:43 “Then all the people left, each for his own home, and David returned home to bless his family.” Worship: We value God among all and want to celebrate his presence through sincere worship in spirit and in truth. Romans 12:1 “Therefore I urge you, brothers in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God this is your spiritual act of worship.” Community: We value the development of genuine fellowship between people. God’s family has no limits to demonstrating the love of Christ. Romans 12:13 “Share with God’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.” Excellence: God gave his absolute best for us, and we desire to give our best in his service. Every ministry will be done to the best of our ability. Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” God’s Word: Providing the whole Bible as the word of truth will be the cornerstone of every ministry. 2 Timothy 3:16 “All scripture is God-Breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.” Our Beliefs We believe that God exists as the Trinity, in three persons, yet one God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God passionately desires a relationship with us of faith, friendship, learning and service. God is the loving Creator of all that exists, both seen and unseen. God is eternal and completely good, knowing all things, having all power and majesty. and towards this end continually invites us into a relationship with him. (Genesis 1:1; John 14:6-9, 15-17 and John 16:7-15; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 John 4:9-10) God expressed himself in human form through Jesus Christ, the Son of God, born of the Virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, was crucified for the sins of us all, was buried, rose again from the dead, and ascended to heaven. (Colossians 1:13-23 and Colossians 2:8-14; 1 Corinthians 15:3-8; Matthew 22:36-40; John 14:1-3; Hebrews 1:1-3; Acts 10:42-43; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17) The Holy Spirit, sent from God to live inside all who believe in Jesus Christ, teaches, comforts, and empowers us, giving each follower diverse gifts, fostering unity, interdependence, productivity, Christ-like character, and love among Christian. The empowering of the Holy Spirit, the promise of the Father, is available for every Christian. (Acts 1:8; 2:4, Romans 5:5 and Romans 8; 1 Corinthians 12-14; Galatians 5:16-25; Ephesians 3:16, Ephesians 4:3-4, and Ephesians 5:18; John 14:25 and John 16:7-14) We believe that the Bible is the infallible word of God and that he speaks to us through it. It is our privilege to seek to understand God’s message and apply it responsibly to our lives. The Bible is our standard in all we say and do. We believe that God’s unchangeable Biblical message ought to be presented in relevant and contemporary ways, free of religious jargon and understandable to the people of our community. (Matthew 5:17-19; 2 Timothy 2:15 and 2 Timothy 3:14-17; Hebrews 4:12, 2 Peter 1:16-21 and 2 Peter 3:14-18; Psalm 19:7-11 and Psalm 119:9-16; Joshua 1:7-8; Acts 17:11) |
